Veiled Innocence

Synopsis

Tick, tick, tock.

Time.

That’s all I have now.

A small room, a photograph, and time.

They want me to trust them and confess my sins.

They told me they wouldn't judge me—they lied.

I thought we could convince the world that this wasn't a crime.

We were wrong.

Time doesn't stand still.

The clock keeps ticking, the world is unconvinced, and now…

Now he is gone.

My Review

This book is about a forbidden romance involving a teacher and student. Its supposed to be wrong but when reading the story it seemed so right. Call me twisted, but I'm the type of reader that if reviewers or authors warn you about a book being taboo, too dark and not for the faint heart, you can bet I'm gonna read it! Yes they were teacher and student but she was 18 yrs old a legal adult, so for me it didn't make the story or intimate parts seem so forbidden.

Addison is a 18 year old Senior in High school. She's popular, straight forward, bold, and very comfortable with her sexuality. I mean VERY comfortable! She comes off as having the perfect life, perfect boyfriend and family. When really she carries a lot of guilt with her. She's really just a lonely girl looking for love. As soon as she lays eyes on her new History teacher Mr. McKendrick time stood still. She wanted him and would doing anything to have him.

Tick, tick, tock.

Thirty two year old Grayson McKendrick just moved back home to Denver Colorado.

He had been on a six month trip in Europe with no plan of leaving soon. Until he receives a call that his dad's health is deteriorating and he knew he needed to go be with him.

First day on the job as the new History teacher, Grayson is feeling irritated and ready to quit.
Until she walks in.

I looked at her- she looked at me.

My ending, staring right at me from the beginning.

Addison plays the seductress well. My jaw dropped reading what lengths she went to seduce Mr. McKendrick. At times I had to remember that she was just a 18 yr. old girl.

At first Mr. McKendrick was strong and stood up to her and did his best to ignore her.

But he is only human and he gives into the temptation.

"This, what were doing? It won't end well, it can't."

There is a interesting twist throughout the story and it switches back to past and present day. You also get Addison and Grayson POV throughout the book which is nice because you really get to know what the other character is feeling. You will not want to put this book down once you start! You will want to know what's going to happen next and how it ends! I don't want to say too much more but I was very intrigued with this story and definitely recommend it!

About the Author
Ella Frank

I am first and foremost a proud Australian, but currently reside in Texas with my husband.

I love to read and write contemporary and erotic romances, but I also like to step outside of the box at times when it comes to telling a story that really speaks to me.

I absolutely adore dessert. I could skip the main meal and head straight to the dessert line every time…especially anything that is covered in caramel.

I am a GLEEK (yes I admit it… So? It makes me happy), on the other hand I love Dexter and he makes me happy too, so analyze that!

I love to sing really bad at the top of my lungs, and I often have conversations with myself.

Some of my favorite authors include; JR Ward, Tiffany Reisz, Nalini Singh, Lori Foster, Lauren Dane, SJ Frost and many more.

Last but certainly not least, I am the author of The Exquisite Series, Blind Obsession and most recently Try.
