Synopsis

Twenty-three year old, Kamryn Cunningham has left all she’s ever known and moved to a small town where no one knows her name, who her parents are, or her social status in the horseracing world. Months after opening her own bakery and evading attempts of being set up by her new best friend, she meets Brody. Kamryn fights the instant pull between them because there’s a detail she can’t dismiss. Brody’s married.

To say that twenty-six year old, Brody Saco has had a rough marriage would be an understatement. After marrying his pregnant girlfriend, he spends the next six years in a relationship filled with hatred, manipulation and guilt involving a tragedy that happened five years earlier. When he keeps running into his sister-in-law’s best friend, Kamryn, he can’t ignore that she makes him feel more with just one look than his wife ever has; and soon he can’t continue fight his feelings for her.

When staying apart proves to be too difficult, Brody and Kamryn enter a relationship full of stolen moments and nights that end too soon while they wait for Brody to file for divorce. But the guilt that comes with their relationship may prove to be too much for Kamryn, and Brody might not be strong enough to face the tragedy from his past in order to leave his conniving wife.

My Review

Kamryn Cunningham comes from a rich well known family in Kentucky. Growing up was not picture perfect like her parents make it come off to be. Dating a guy since high school and whose family is just as wealthy seemed like the perfect match for her. Kamryn hasn’t been happy since she started dating her boyfriend Charles. The only reason they have been together for so long is because that’s what her family wanted and it looked good to the public. Shortly after dating Charles she realized he was just like her parents and his and wanted a future trophy wife by his side. One night Kamryn is stunned over a conversation she hears between her father, her boyfriend and his dad that. Kamryn finally decides she has had enough and up and leaves her life back in Kentucky. She wants nothing to do with that life. She wants to be free and make her own choices and do what she loves and not be judged.

Brody Saco is just a man living in pain for the past five years. With an evil wife from hell to losing a child he just lives day to day. He works his ass off just so his wife Olivia goes and spends it on ridiculous stuff t and then she is just crazy! I mean crazy! Ugh!! I couldn’t stand Olivia. She plays games with his emotions and makes him feel guilty all the time. You will be screaming at your kindle “JUST LEAVE!!!” Brody wants to leave because their marriage was over before it ever begin but he feels he owes her to get her the help she needs first.

Kamryn has changed her identity and has opened up her own business bedside her new best friend Kinlee. She keeps her old life a secret and never talks about it.  She loves her new life and her business is very successful. Kinlee and her husband Jace are always trying to set her up with guys, but Kamryn always makes an excuse. Finally she agrees to meet one of their friends at a get together one night. Kamryn was expecting to run into a man (literally) that took her breath away and make her want him just by a stare.

“He was looking at me as if he’d just found what he’s been looking for-and the look was so open, so intense, it sent a shiver running down my spine. It should have scared me, but it somehow felt like what I was looking at was a reflection of what I was feeling.”

Let me just say I’m not a fan of instant love. I was kind of thrown off about how they both felt so much for each other just by a look. However, as the story progressed I started connecting with them and loved watching their story unfold. It wasn’t easy for them and some might not like their choices, but by the end you will be routing for these two! I will admit I was getting frustrated because Brody was wishy- washy, but seeing his side and him trying to make everything right eased my frustration, a little! LOL Brody and Kamryn fell hard for each other. They didn’t hold back given a second chance to love again.

“I know I wouldn’t be able to live with myself knowing I walked away from the only person who’s made me feel-whatever the hell this is-ever.”

Over all this book was really good! It’s about new begging’s and fighting for you want. This book was not what I expected going into it which is not a bad thing! It was very intense and I loved how it all unraveled and by the end I was so happy!
