Synopsis

My name is Tate. And all my life I have kept secrets. The type of secrets that haunt your dreams at night. I wake up hating the world, and I go to sleep knowing that the memories of my past will visit me-reminding me that I once was weak and a coward. I'll never be that person again.

But there is one person who has made me think there may be more to life than hatred and revenge. Missy fills me with hope. But hope is what makes you weak, makes you think you can be better, and it's a lie.

A man like me deserves to be alone forever because one day, I will come face to face with my past, and I will destroy it. Even if that means destroying myself in the process.

But what I didn't know was that she has nightmares of her own-because of me. For the first time in my life, I want to save someone. But how can I save her when I can't even save myself?

Review

The Undescribable series has been one of my must reads of the year. In the last book we were teased so much with Tate and Missy that it made this book one the most highly anticipated books of the year for me. I could not wait to see how things played out between them.

To me it was pretty obvious what had gone on with Missy- at least to some point. So when her secrets were revealed in Unforgettable, I wasn’t all that surprised. I was, however, shocked at how much of an ass Tate continued to be throughout this book. He has demons so deeply embedded in him that he just doesn’t know how to let them go.

Tate doesn’t know how to love. Hates the word. Hates what it represents for him. When you spend your entire life being told “I love you” during some of the worst possible times in your life for selfish reasons- you tend to lose all faith in the meaning of love.

Then sweet, wholesome, cute little Missy comes along and starts playing with his mind. He finds himself feeling things that he hates himself for feeling. So he does the one thing he does best- pushes her away in some of the most hurtful and cruelest ways possible.

When I think about Missy, all I can think about is how sorry I felt for her in the glimpses we got of her in the last book and then again in Unforgettable. She may come across as weak but that is the last thing Missy is. Missy is strong, and fearless. She is a fighter and refuses to give up on what she believes in—and she believes in Tate. But how many times can someone be pushed away before they have had enough? What lengths will people go to to protect those they love?

I loved the connection between them when things were good. I loved their passion and loved seeing the different sides they brought out in each other. I just wish “the good times” would have lasted a bit longer than they did. I feel like Tate spent so much time keeping Missy at arm’s length that their bond wasn’t able to fully develop into one of those soul siring relationships- which it definitely had the potential to do.

I hope we get more of Missy and Tate in Parker’s book. I just get a kick butt smile on my face every time I think of what is book could be like. Him and his Puss Puss were just hilarious.
