***Blog Tour*** Third Debt by Pepper Winters

Synopsis
“She healed me. She broke me. I set her free. But we are in this together. We will end this together. The rules of this ancient game can’t be broken.”

Nila Weaver no longer recognises herself. She’s left her lover, her courage, and her promise. Two debts down. Too many to go.

Jethro Hawk no longer recognises himself. He’s embraced what he always ran from, and now faces punishment far greater than he feared.

It’s almost time. It’s demanding to be paid.

The Third Debt will be the ultimate test...

Nila
HOW HAD THIS happened?
Where did it all go so wrong?
Jethro was supposed to love me. I was supposed to love him.
Yet he’d given me over to his family. He’d bound the ropes, blindfolded my eyes, and gifted me to his kin.
“Know what time it is, Nila Weaver?” Daniel breathed in my ear.
I jerked away. The restraints around my body meant I couldn’t run, couldn’t fight; I couldn’t even see.
Oh, God.
Please don’t let them do this.
I wanted to scream for Jethro to save me. I wanted him to put an end to this and claim me once and for all. Didn’t our connection mean anything?
You know it’s all different now.
Ever since I’d returned to Hawksridge Hall, things had been different—horribly, horribly different.
The fire crackled in the billiards room where the Hawk men had been playing poker. The air was hot and muggy and laced with cognac fumes.
Tonight, I’d had plans to end whatever changed between Jethro and me forever.
But now…those plans had changed.
Kestrel ran his fingers over my collar. “Relax, little Weaver. It will all be over soon.”
Cut chuckled. “Yes, soon you can go to sleep and pretend none of this happened.”
My ears strained for one other voice. The voice of the man who controlled my heart even though he’d thrown it back in my face.
But only silence greeted me.
Daniel snickered, licking my cheek. “Time to pay, Weaver.”
Someone clapped and in a voice full of darkness and doom said, “It’s time for the Third Debt.”

Two Months Prior...
Nila
I shook my head, my heart smarting with pain. “What happened to you?” I reached for him, wanting to clutch his forearm and reassure myself that our bond was still there.
With a sneer, he sidestepped, staying out of reach. “What happened to me?” Smiling coldly, he made me seem as if I were some idiot child asking for the universe’s secrets. “I got better. That’s what happened to me.”
“I don’t—I don’t understand. You weren’t ill.”
“You wouldn’t understand. No one can understand another’s problems. All you need to know is that I’m cured and I won’t make the same mistakes again.”
I took a step back, goosebumps scattering over my body. “Don’t say that. I’m in love with you. Something like that cannot be undone—”
“Love is a chemical imbalance, Ms. Weaver. I am no longer imbalanced.” He came closer. “Don’t get cold feet on your invitation. You promised you would come, and you don’t want to give me a reason to punish you so soon…do you?”
My skin pinpricked with panic. That sentence should’ve dripped with eroticism. But it wasn’t. It was cold…lifeless…like him.
Snapping his fingers, Jethro held out his hand. He kept his digits curled slightly so I couldn’t see the tattoo marks on the tips. “Come. I want to be back at Hawksridge before sunrise.”

Jethro
Nila dropped the jumper onto the desk, cupping her breasts. “Does this count as acceptable to you?”
I couldn’t breathe.
Everything I’d been running from made my head pound, my cock beg, and the drugs in my system to fucking disintegrate.
What was it about her? Why did she have this control over me? And why was I utterly, ridiculously helpless around her?
God fucking help me.
Didn’t she know the more she antagonised me and made me slip, the more likely Cut would give her to Daniel and fucking slaughter me in my sleep? I wanted to strike her—hammer the precariousness of our situation home.
“Why did you bring me here?” she murmured, skirting the desk.
I couldn’t tear my eyes away from the hard pinpricks on her chest. She couldn’t be cold—not in this furnace. That meant she was turned on.
My mind instantly went to one question. Is she wet?
“Kes told you. Our secrets are now yours.”
“I don’t think that’s the only reason.” Closing the distance, she licked her bottom lip. “I think you wanted me off the estate, so you could have me without anyone seeing.” Her voice layered with sex and invitation. “You wanted me away from the cameras, so you could drop the act and show me the truth.”
Fuck.
I cleared my throat. “What truth?”
“That all of this is a lie. That you’re still the man I fell for—playing the same game you said you were sick of before I left.”
Shaking my head, I tried to clear my thoughts. “You’re once again delusional.” Swallowing hard, I ordered, “Go down to the sorting floor. I have a meeting to take care of—”
“No,” she breathed. “I’m not going anywhere until you stop being an asshole and show me the real you.” Closing the final distance, she stood beside me, crackling with mischief and lust.
Locking eyes, she undid the button and zipper of her jeans. “Don’t hide from me, Jethro. I can’t stay strong if you cut me out.”
My legs bunched to push the swivel chair backward. One heave and I could launch myself free and run from her web. But somehow, I couldn’t. I remained tethered in place; breathing fast, fear swamping my lungs.
She grabbed my wrist. “Don’t fight it. You can’t fight the inevitable.” Without a word, she pressed my hand into her trousers.

My name is Maya, and I'm not the same girl I was a month ago. There is an emptiness I carry around in my chest now. A broken heart caused by grief. There are also dark nights where I have trouble breathing as I feel the heavy weight of loss rushing through my veins, painful moments where I can remember my entire being scream in agony as I held onto my father's cold, lifeless hand. Then there is always a hero to every story, isn't there? A hero who I despised from the moment he opened his mouth. His name is Alexander. He is my inevitable I never expected to find. The one my broken heart leads me to. His existence, his touch, everything he did to make my pain bearable will leave a mark on me forever. Yet, I know that when I'm gone, he'll only remember me as a fading memory.

Excerpt

A knock on my door startled me out of my thoughts, and I hesitated. Hearing another insistent knock just a few seconds later, I made sure my towel was secure around my body and went to answer the door. As I peeked out from the small opening, I saw Alexander standing just a few inches away from me. Our eyes met, and my pulse quickened. As I was still dripping wet, the cold air coming from the hallway caused me to shiver. His eyes broke away from mine, taking in my body from head to toe. I tried to cover my half-naked body behind the door, but it was pointless. “What do you want?” I asked, annoyed that he was doing the silent thing and just staring. I heard the elevators ping open down the hallway, and his attention shifted from me for a second. Being done with the scrutinizing look he was giving me, I started to close the door on his face, but his hand stopped me from pushing it all the way. With his next forward move, I had to let go of the door and take a step back as he strode into my room. Into me. “What the hell—” His hand shot out, and he gently grabbed me at the back of my neck and pulled my body toward him as his lips made contact with mine. He took another step into me, and I found my body plastered to his. Putting both of my hands on his chest, I tried to push him off, but he urged my lips apart with his, and his tongue sneaked into my mouth, forcing me to respond to his kiss. Because when he looked like he did, how could you not? As my body slackened against him, his sudden kiss turned into something different, something more and unexpected. It was hard, yet still gentle and slow—something I wouldn’t expect from a jerk like him. He looked more like someone who would take what he wanted the way he wanted it. Not like that would have been a hardship, but still. He splayed his warm hand at the small of my back and slowly pulled my lower body into his. I grabbed the lapels of his suit, pulling him down to me, leaning into the kiss as I melted around his body. “What was that?” he whispered against my wet lips. “What?” I muttered, dazed. Before I could realize what I had done with whom, he groaned and gently pushed me back against the open door, his hand still protecting the back of my head. Caressing my lips with his tongue, he claimed my mouth in another drawn-out kiss. A mind-numbing kiss. A kiss that made me lose my judgment. A throat cleared behind him, next to him, somewhere—and the moment was
lost.

About the Author

Ella Maise

I'm an avid reader. Therefore, a big dreamer. I love nothing more than to escape real life to find those very few magical moments in a book. I love how it has the power of stealing your worries away, putting a smile on your face, and of course sometimes making you crush on fictional characters. I can't even begin to describe how exciting it is to give life to new characters and fall for them. It's definitely a different kind of addiction. I'm still searching for my own happy ending. Until that happens, I'll live vicariously through my own characters.

Scars (Marked, #2.5)

Synopsis

Abandoned.

Thrown away.

Invisible.

Every single one of those could be used to describe me. They can tell you my story—my sad past—without a single syllable passing through my lips.

I hate them—those who lied to me. They claimed to love me, but in reality they used me when convenient. My parents. Sister. And now Talan. Loving them has left me empty. Sad.

Alone.

Not anymore. Screw them. My love has turned to anger…hate. Now, what consumes me is the urge to destroy, to force them to see what they wrecked with their carelessness. My name will never be forgotten. Not after I have my revenge.

His tears will be my ultimate retribution.

My Review

If you have not read Marking Him and Marking Her I suggest you read them first or you will be confused and lost.
I thought I knew how crazy Janice was in the previous books but boy was I way wrong! She is psycho crazy! Her infatuation with Talan is crazy! She just can’t let him go!

Throughout this book you see how Janice deals day to day. I can’t believe I’m about to say this, but I did feel sorry for her. She is mentally ill! She had a messed up past but nothing could be worse to what her future holds now for her. She needs help bad but it’s too late. I don’t want to say to more because you will be left with a cliffhanger!!

This book was a good a book! Getting inside Janice’s mind was a ride. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book! I absolutely love this series.

I thought that losing my family was the linchpin to my suffering; the thing which would forever hold my head under the dark waters of regret. But I was wrong … so wrong. What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger, and what threatens us only serves to feed the beast. My boy is in trouble, and it’s time this father stood up for what he should have a long time ago. Only, after years of believing I deserved to spend my days alone, punishing myself for the mistakes I made, I’ve finally found the truth—her. When she needs me as much as my son, how will I decide which path to take? Will I be doomed to forever make the wrong choice? And will I, once again, lose everything I love and drown in my regret?

Review

Oh the feels!!...
There are very few authors that can entrap me, hold me completely captive in a story so well written, its hypnotic. And this lady does that. Devil On Your Back exceeded ALL my expectations. I knew it would be brilliant, but this story goes beyond that.

Vince and Sonya's emotional inner turmoil will make you feel. Empathy, sadness, hope, it's all there brought to life so vividly you can't help but fall into their world. Their pasts have defined both their characters today; their hearts stomped on by the loss of their loved ones. Until now, both of them were just going through the motions of life, day after mundane day. But now, that yearning for more, that desire to be loved, cherished, cared for. It's risen from the depths of these two broken souls. How much longer can they deny the longing, believing they could never, and don't deserve, a second chance at true love?

Getting his son back, getting his life back on track isn't a quick easy fix for Vince. But if he's willing to go the distance, maybe the reward will be much greater than just a rekindled relationship with his boy.

Sonya didn't see it coming, she didn't see him coming. But within the club, she not only found Vince, she found herself. Her place, her safe haven, her family.

Along with Max's epic story telling abilities in Devil On Your Back, comes some seriously HOT and dirty sexy scenes. HOTDAMNNNNNN Max, I think my kindle was ready to catch on fire from all that heat. This Butcher Boys novel is the second instalment in this must read series, even though it can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading Devil You Know first to get full enjoyment out of Vince and Sonya's story. And now, thanks to this well thought out plot, I am totally anxious for the next book! Bring on Sawyer.

***Blog Tour*** Silver Bastard by Joanna Wylde

Title: Silver Bastard
Author: Joanna Wylde

Blurb

First in the new Silver Valley series from the New York Times bestselling author of the Reapers Motorcycle Club Novels.

Fourteen months. For fourteen months, Puck Redhouse sat in a cell and kept his mouth shut, protecting the Silver Bastards MC from their enemies. Then he was free and it was time for his reward--full membership in the club, along with a party to celebrate. That's when he saw Becca Jones for the first time and set everything in motion. Before the night ended he'd violated his parole and stolen her away from everything she knew.

Five years. It was five years ago that Puck destroyed Becca and saved her all in one night. She's been terrified of him ever since, but she's even more terrified of the monsters he still protects her from... But Becca refuses to let fear control her. She's living her life and moving forward, until she gets a phone call from the past she can't ignore. She has to go back, and there's only one man she can trust to go with her--the ex-con biker who rescued her once before.

Puck will help her again, but this time it'll be on his terms. No more lies, no more tears, and no more holding back what he really wants...

Review
Ladies, say hello to Puck Redhouse! This badass, sexy as sin biker will have you begging for more by the end of this book. He's no only dangerous, but kind of an asshole, and it just makes him all the more delicious. Silver Bastard is the first instalment in a brand new series by the amazing Joanna Wylde. If you fell in love with her Reaper's men then you will most likely enjoy Puck and Becca's story! Some of our favourites from the MC series do make an appearance in this book.

Puck has just got out of prison after doing time for the club. His first night out celebrating his freedom does not go to plan. No, it ends up with him breaking a few laws and not to mention his parole conditions. After a night of unexpected events, Puck takes off with a very scared, abused teenager on the back oh his bike.

Five years later....

Becca and Puck have moved on with their lives but have never been very far apart. Crossing each other's paths on occasion and always in the back of each others minds, these two stubborn, hot headed couple run into trouble. Trouble being that although they may deny it, they want each other. Bad. There's a million reasons why not, why they shouldn't go there, but this forbidden love can't be tamed. One night was never enough, and while Puck and Becca try to find a happy medium, their pasts catch up with them. And it isn't pretty.

Silver Bastard was an enjoyable read, while I didn't love it, I still had a laugh here and there and found myself falling for a few of the secondary characters. For me, Becca and Puck's relationship was very back and forward and they were both very full on all the time. Sometimes Becca was to immature for me, and at other times I thought Puck was just a prick. However, there were also the moments where I felt their growing connection and the depth of their emotions. This book is a fun, not too heavy, great start to a fab new series by Joanna. I can not wait to get my hands on the book two! Another well written tale by this talented author.

Excerpt

Ignoring him, I settled back on my stool and surveyed the room. We sat in Becca’s section, and what I saw wasn’t making me happy. I knew she was a good waitress, but she’d just started here and it showed. Not only had she fucked up several orders, she didn’t quite seem to get the rhythm of the bar. That wasn’t my problem, though.

My problem was that despite these fuckups, nobody seemed to mind. I had a nasty suspicion this was due to her perky tits, friendly smile, and tight little ass that seriously just needed a bite taken right out of it.

She really, really needed to get a new job—every man in the place wanted her. Including me. Especially me. I hated them. All of them. I shifted uncomfortably, because just like every time I shared a room with her, my pants had gotten tight.

Torture. Becca was just so fucking fine on every level, and not just her looks. There was something about the way she carried herself . . . I couldn’t put my finger on it. Like she was dancing through life to some song nobody else could hear. Never met another woman like her—she wasn’t just sexy, she was a survivor and I admired that.

She’d grown up so much since the first time I’d met her. Bigger boobs, a nice fullness to her ass that was nowhere close to fat but would be perfect to hold tight while I fucked her. Her lips had plumped, too, and over the years she’d gained a sparkle in her eyes that turned her from pretty to 100 percent spectacular.

Not to mention how she’d tasted.

Nearly blew in my pants when I’d taken that mouth. Just the memory got me hard. Make that harder. Fucking basket case.

When I’d pulled up to find her sitting outside with Collins, a thousand murder scenarios ran through my mind. And yeah, I know I covered that already, but if anything ever deserved empha- sis, this was it. Collins needed to die. I didn’t care how nice he was. After that I’d throw Becca on the back of my bike and make a run for the hills . . .

Okay, so there were a few problems with the plan, the top one being she hated me. Or she should—I’d certainly given her cause. Boonie nudged me.

“Did I mention you’re pathetic? You want her, take her. Other- wise let it go because you’re an embarrassment to all men in general and to the Silver Bastards in particular.”

My Review

Being in love with at the tender age of sixteen doesn’t always mean it will be forever, despite all of out hopes, dreams and beliefs. Nine years of being in love with the man she believes is her happily-ever-after. That is until he’s not. Scarlett believes Jake is her everything. Too bad for her, Jake doesn’t see it that way. Unfortunately for Scarlett Collins she discovers this fact nine years too late.

Well change is good they say. Right?

After a heartbreaking decision Scarlett sets out on her own to rebuild her life. Thank god for amazing funny friends like Amy, and a job you loveso moving on isn’t so bad.

Then a night out, a locked door and one chance meeting with a sexy Britt causes changes to be set in motion. And thank goodness for Scar these changes ensure that her life is never to be the same.

Change for Scarlett change ends up being very very good meet…Enter Kyle Harrington.

Kyle is all kinds of sseet and sexy and I really adored his character!

Upon meeting each other it’s immediate spark for Kyle. And I loved that! I loved that he got his POV right as they meet and we see just how affected he is from the smallest encounter with Scarlett.

This story was just all kinds of cute. I love Scarlett and Kyle and how they made their way into each other’s hearts. While each having a past that leaves them reeling from broken trust I loved this slow paced believable romance. Their story isn’t rushed, they take time getting to know each other, talking, being cute and shy, all the beginning stuff that great love is built upon. I really found their budding romance realistic and the sex scenes were HOT.

With the journey to love not always being smooth, of course we endure a few hiccups along the way but with a newfound belief in love Kyle and Scarlett fight to keep what they’ve build.

If you’re a fan of second chance love books, witty banter from entertaining bff’s like Amy than be sure to give this sweet read a go.
