My Mind's Eye (Book 1)

Ryker

She is the epitome of the girl next door, but with a feistiness that makes my dick throb.

I’m drawn to her like no other. She stirs things in me I have no desire to feel, makes me long for things I shouldn’t.

This is my game. I choose the players, and I never play for keeps.

I don’t believe in fate. I make my own destiny. I work hard and play harder. Luck is for pussies, karma for idiots. Me, I make shit happen.

Meeting her fucked up my plan. Threw me off my game.

I’m now face to face with my karma. Her name is Kat Rollins.

Kat

Ryker Eddison is the epitome of a player. You know the type: Mr. Get In and Get Out.

He’s all about the chase, wanting just one night. Everyone knows this—I know this. Still, I find myself craving him, my greedy body betraying what my heart and mind already know: he will only bring me pain.

He’s the guy who girls like me should avoid. I’m smart; I know better. But when I’m with him, I feel things I’ve never felt before. Things I never knew I wanted.

I can’t deny it … I like the chase. The high is explosive, but I’m afraid if I give in, I may end up losing more than I can handle: my heart.

On the Rocks (Book 2)

Braunwyn

Four years ago, losing the love of my life almost destroyed me.

Years of being labeled and looked upon with disdain by everyone in my hometown almost wrecked me.

Four years ago, I became a mother and together we were enough… until I met him.

He wanted to rebuild my broken —I just didn’t know how to let him.

This is my story, of how one man’s love changed everything I thought I knew about life, love and myself.

Can Levi Eddison prove to be my restoration?

Levi

Everything in my world changed the day Braunwyn Daniels walked into my pub.

She was a woman of many contradictions. I recognized the happiness and sorrow each fighting its way to the surface from deep within.

I was drawn to her immediately.

Behind her long legs, chestnut brown hair and beautiful eyes lay a damaged soul.

I needed to change that —I just didn’t know how.

This is my story of how I met a broken girl and vowed to make her whole.

In the end, it turns out I knew nothing about true happiness until Braunwyn Daniels let me love her.

***SPECIAL NOTE ***

Mental Illness is a growing concern in our world today. On the Rocks is about surviving the aftermath of suicide, and believing in love again. Levi and Braunwyn’s love story is inspired by events that impacted the lives of people I care about deeply. I hope you enjoy their journey.

One Last Shot (Book 3)

My name is Claire Knox.

People say I’m the female version of a player: a boyslayer, if you’re fluent in urban dictionary speak.

I hate long term relationships. I’ll never commit to sticking around long enough to get attached to the notion of love, marriage, or the proverbial two point five kids.

No sirree Not this girl.

There’s no way I’ll let myself get hurt by losing someone I love ever again.

Been there, felt that.

Consider me damaged goods if you will, but I'm happy.

Or so I thought, until my path crossed his again…

My Mind's Eye Review

This debut novel from Gillian Jones was so well done. It has everything I love in a book: loads of palpable sexual tension, banter that made me miss my own girlfriends, an ultra sexy reformed manwhore alpha, and a smart and strong heroine. Ryker and Kat burned up the pages and took me on a journey to their happily ever after that left me really excited for Levi's book.

Kat and her best friend Claire are in their last year in college. Best friend since forever, Claire and Kat have always been there for each other especially after a fire left Kat suffering from PTSD and an horrible ex-boyfreind that won't leave good enough alone. Determined to move on, Kat has a new job at Pub Fiction and has decided that she is staying far away from the opposite sex. Well at least until she begins her first day of work and meets the bar owner's brother Ryker. Known far and wide as a one night only kind of guy, Ryker has no desire for anything more until he sees Kat. From the very beginning they are drawn to each other but fight the pull. When they finally succumb to their desires, past fears rear their ugly heads and Kat and Ryker have to make a choice; each other or run from their fears.

I could not put this book down. I had to know what happened to these to slightly bruised characters but together they really shined. Ryker and Kat were perfect together. Watching them dance around each other for the first part of the book had me giggling and swooning. Add in the best best friend a girl could ask for and this became more than just a love story. It was a story of surviving and overcoming mental illness and the scars of the past. Ryker's brother Levi, the owner of Pub Fiction, story is next and I'm so excited to see where his story takes him as well as more glimpses of Kat and Ryker.

My On the Rocks Review

On the Rocks is the interconnected standalone follow up to Gillian Jones' My Mind's Eye. And as much as I loved MME, On the Rock's shows her growth as an author and I have fallen in love with Levi and Braun. These two are the other halves of their souls. From the very first time they meet, their connection is fierce and I could feel it all the way to my toes. At times utterly devastating and blissfuly romantic, these two have burrowed inside my heart and have found a place there to stay.

Braun has survived some of the worst things a person can survive. The author's note at the start of the book gives a hint to the tragedy to follow, but nothing could prepare me for the brokenness Braunwyn is left with. Mental illness has left Braun's life in ruins. She's now a single mother without the help of her parents at 18. Her grams takes her in and for four years she finishes school so that she can build a life for her and her daughter. When she starts a new job at Pub Fiction, she never believes that there she will meet her soul mate. But Levi, the owner, starts a fire inside her that she thought she lost when she was still a teenager. As these two work together, they build a bond and a friendship that is overshadowed by Braun's past.

Levi sees something in Braun that he didn't think he'd find. The same thing that his brother found in book 1: a person that completes him. But it's obvious that Braun is hiding something and isn't ready for him just yet. Levi is determined to wait her out though. Because when she's ready, he's playing the trump card and will take it all. Yet when he finds out her secret, he knows he has his work cut out for him.

Braunwyn and Levi's story is one of triumph over heartbreak. It's the realization that even when all seems lost, there is still hope. I am still swooning over Levi and I read this a week ago. He is the ultimate white knight. He doesn't rush into anything but when he makes up his mind, he is all in. He takes every piece of Braun even her adorable daughter and makes them his own. Watching Levi befriend Braun's daughter was the sweetest thing. There is nothing better for me in a book that to watch a grown man brought to his knees by a child and this fit the bill perfectly.

I adored watching Braun open up to Levi and start building a life for herself. Having lived with a family member who struggles daily with severe depression, this story hit very close to home. Gillian did a wonderful job of portraying the honesty of life with mental illness and it's effects on those surrounded by it. Yet by the end of this story, my heart was fully mended. And I can't forget mention how steamy and ultra sexy the sex scenes were. My panties melted right off when Levi walked in on Braun in her room and from then on, I was a sighing and blushing my way through the rest of the book.

I cannot wait to read more from Pub Fiction. There are several other side characters that I am desperate to see fall. With humor, heart and heat, Gillian Jones has made a new super fan.

My One Last Shot Review

Ahhhhh. My Matty. If there is a better hero, I'm not sure I've come across him yet. From the very beginning I fell in love with Matt Bishop. I rooted for him, my heart broke for him and I wanted only the best things for him. Yes, I became a bit obsessed with Matty and his journey back to Claire and I'm okay with that because he's mine perfect for Claire. One Last Shot is a story of two people meant to be but having to work to find their way back to each other when fears and long held scars keep them apart.

Told in dual pov, Matt and Claire's story goes back to the very beginning and follows them as their relationship breaks down in college because of Claire's heartbreaking loss as a teen which has left her scared to fall in love. In My Minds Eye Claire and Matt's best friends fall in love which leads to them meeting and falling as well. But when old fears resurface for Claire, she runs. Now two years later she's moving back home for her best friend's wedding and realizes that she has to confront everything she left behind.

Matt is angry and upset that Claire left without a word and he's determined to break down her walls now that she's back because he's still in love with her. He's always held out hope that she'd come to her senses and see him for exactly who he his: her soul mate. But Claire puts up a bigger fight than he expected and as she continues to push him away, he's not sure he can break through her walls.

Claire is determined to protect her heart from suffering any more loss. But what she comes to realize is that by pushing Matty away, she's not protecting but hurting herself more. Claire has to work out her demons before she pushes Matt away for good. But her struggle is real and her long held scars require mending that she can't do on her own. Once she figures it out, she needs to find a way to win back the love of her life before it's too late.

One Last Shot is hilarious, heart-wrenching, and oh so steamy. Gillian Jones took characters that I thought I knew and created a depth to them that I didn't even know I needed. With the perfect balance of laughs, drama and sex, Claire and Matt's story was everything I love about reading NA. Add in all the other characters I've grown to love from the previous two books and this third standalone installment was near perfection.

I really enjoyed My Mind's Eye, was pulled into On the Rocks but I fell in love with One Last Shot. Ms. Jones was able to make me feel just about every emotion possible in this book and still left me smiling like a stalker by the end. Matty (and yes, Claire too) will always hold a special place in my heart. There was just something so real about them and their struggle that I won't ever forget.
