*** RELEASE BOOST *** Balance Check by M.E. Carter

Title: Balance Check
A #MyNewLife Novel
Author: M.E. Carter
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Release Date: August 18, 2017

Life has a funny way of throwing you off balance.

Take me for example. I spent years in a bad marriage with a self-serving ass, only to have the love of my life show up when I least expected him. Greg helped me on my journey of self discovery and taught me that, no, I’m not perfect. But I’m perfectly me.  It was an amazing journey.

We laughed hard. We loved even harder.

And then he was suddenly and cruelly ripped away from me by the unclenching jaws of fate.

Ok, so it wasn’t that dramatic. And I really need to stop watching the Investigation Channel.

But now Greg is back and as it turns out, re-incorporating someone into your life isn’t that easy. Between jobs, kids, and barely-there friendships, life and love can be messy. Making it all work is a balancing act.

But we’re determined to get it in check.

*** BLOG TOUR *** Beard in Mind by Penny Reid

Beard in Mind, an all new standalone in the bestselling, romantic comedy Winston Brothers Series by Penny Reid, is available NOW!

BIM-cover (2)
All is fair in love and auto maintenance.
Beau Winston is the nicest, most accommodating guy in the world. Usually.
Handsome as the devil and twice as charismatic, Beau lives a charmed life as everyone’s favorite Winston Brother. But since his twin decided to leave town, and his other brother hired a stunning human-porcupine hybrid as a replacement mechanic for their auto shop, Beau Winston’s charmed life has gone to hell in a handbasket.
Shelly Sullivan is not nice and is never accommodating. Ever.
She mumbles to herself, but won’t respond when asked a question. She glares at everyone, especially babies. She won’t shake hands with or touch another person, but has no problems cuddling with a dog. And her damn parrot speaks only in curse words.
Beau wants her gone. He wants her out of his auto shop, out of Tennessee, and out of his life.
The only problem is, learning why this porcupine wears her coat of spikes opens a Pandora’s box of complexity—exquisite, tempting, heartbreaking complexity—and Beau Winston soon discovers being nice and accommodating might mean losing what matters most.

She’d taken the sofa, in her own house, and given me the bed. That didn’t make a lick of sense. I crouched next to her, threading my fingers into the silky hair at her temples. “Honey.” “Mmm.” I bent to whisper, “Shelly.” “Hmm?” “I’m going to carry you to your bed. I’ll take the sofa.” “Mmm.” I grinned at her soft noises, at the untroubled expression on her face, and how her brow—even in sleep—still looked regal and stern. Sliding my arms under her legs and shoulder, I picked her up. And, unfortunately, that woke her up. She jerked in my arms. “What are you doing?” “I’m taking you to the bed.” “Don’t do that.” “I don’t mind, I’ll take the sofa.” Our mouths were just inches apart, and hers was distracting. She squirmed. “Put me down.” Sighing unhappily, I did. I set her on her feet next to the couch. The blanket pooled at her feet and I stepped back to give her some space. It was dark, but I could see her just fine, and that meant I had to force my eyes to remain above her neck. The woman was wearing two pathetic scraps of fabric as pajamas. A thin little tank top and shorts. That’s it. I set my jaw and turned to the side, waiting for her to walk past. “Where are you?” I glanced at her and realized she couldn’t see at all. She didn’t have a hand out, but the way her eyes were moving about the room gave away her blindness. “I’m here.” I didn’t touch her, because if I did, I wouldn’t want to stop. Shelly turned her head in my direction and took a deep breath. Still she didn’t reach for me. I didn’t know the specifics of what to expect after her Friday session, but I recalled Dr. West saying something about Shelly doing self-guided ERP exercises over this week. “Can you see?” She licked her lips, her voice sandpapery. “Because I can’t see at all. It’s so dark.” “I can see.” Unbidden, my eyes dropped to her body, to the swell of her breasts, the panel of bare stomach, the curve of her hips. Pinpricks of heat raised over my skin and I curled my hands into fists. She shuffled forward and I caught her before she bumped into me, setting my hands gently at her waist. “Let me take you to your room.” My voice was rough, for obvious reasons. Saying nothing, she brought her hand to my forearm, her body gently colliding with mine. And then her hand on my arm slid up my bicep to my shoulder. “Shelly.” I was running out of breath. “I like this.” “What?” “Touching you.” Oh fuck. I held still and endured her hands moving over my body, down the front of my shirt, stopping at the hem, then pushing it up. “Take this off.” I did. I pulled the T-shirt over my head and let it drop to the floor. We stood there, facing each other in the dark, not touching. Despite the session on Friday and the progress that had been made, I realized she wasn’t quite there yet. Dr. West was right, Friday was just a step, the first step. Shelly wasn’t able to initiate contact. Not yet. Her hands balled into fists and she swayed forward, her breath struggling little puffs. If anything was going to happen tonight, I had to initiate it. I had to be the one to touch first. God, how I wanted her. How I wanted her above me, beneath me, surrounding me. But how could I? “I know why I hesitate,” her voice was breathless, “but why do you hesitate?” “Lots of reasons.” “Give me one.” “I don’t want to you use you.” “I wish you would.” That pulled a laugh from me, just a small relief from the mounting tension. My eyes moved over her body, an undeniable impulse to devour the sight of her, her legs, stomach, chest, then up her neck to her lips. “You asked me on Saturday if sex was a big deal for me, or if it was you. The answer is both.” She held very still, and I got the sense she was holding her breath, straining to listen. “You are a big deal to me. I don’t want a fling. I don’t want a flirtation. I want promises.” “What can I promise you?” That you’ll love me. That I’ll be your priority. She shifted her weight from foot to foot. A spike of anxiety that she might leave me like this had me acting without forethought. I lifted my hands to her waist again and immediately, her fingertips skimmed over skin of my lower stomach in response, making my muscles tense in hot anticipation. She grew more assertive as she caressed my sides, abdomen, ribs, chest, shoulders, and then back down. Shelly stepped closer, a hint of thrilling contact between her breasts and my torso, and all the words and worries melted from my mind, died on my tongue, suffocated by the feel of her body, and the possibility of this moment. Her finger hooked in the waistband of my jeans. “Take these off.” Her hand turned, her fingers and palm cupping me over my zipper. Instinctively, I pressed myself into her touch even as I grabbed her wrist. “Beau, I promise—” She didn’t get to speak, because I kissed her, hard and wild, unbuttoning and unzipping my fly with one hand and bringing her palm inside my boxers with the other. My Review
5 "Essential" Stars

Oh, how I adore this family. This series. These characters. And Penny Reid.

Beard in Mind was an emotinal journey for two people which was not love at first sight but really something much more meaningful. Beau and Shelly's romance was as unique as they were. With Beau's easy smile and everybody-loves-him personality and Shelly's quiet and abrupt leave-me-alone facade, the time they took to get to know each other really cemented the fact that Penny Reid has the ability to showcase the complexities of her characters better than just about any other author I've read.

I found myself connecting with pieces of each Beau and Shelly. The real life quality of their struggles really resonated with me. I also adored that this book took place concurrently with Cleatus's story. Relieving that novel from Beau's perspective was almost as satisfying as reading it the first time. And as always, coming back to Tennessee with this family is almost like coming home.

***RELEASE BLITZ*** Strike by Cora Brent

Gentry Generations, #1 by Cora Brent Publication Date: August 21, 2017 Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance
A summer job. That’s all it was supposed to be. It never crossed my mind that I was about to collide with a man who would obliterate every plan I ever made. My mother has always warned me that love is like a lightning bolt and it strikes without warning. But I had no intention of getting struck by either lightning or love anytime soon. I’d be too busy finishing my journalism degree and landing a job in a city far more sophisticated than Phoenix. There was certainly nothing in the cards about getting involved with an ex-ballplayer turned nightclub boss. He was too old for me, too complicated, too distracting. On the surface we had almost nothing in common except the draw of an overpowering physical connection. The seasonal job at a local resort was going to be temporary. He was going to be temporary. But insufferably sexy, arrogant Dalton Tremaine has other ideas. And the harder I fall for him the more I can’t find a good reason to resist giving him everything he wants… *STRIKE is the first book in a brand new sexy spinoff series from NYT and USA Today Bestselling Author Cora Brent. No cliffhanger! May be read as a stand alone.

I'm Home!!! I'm Home!!! sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh* It feels so good to be back in the Gentry fold!!!

First book in the Gentry Generations and what a fantastic start it is.

First up is one of Cord Gentry's twins Cami.

Cami has been off studying Journalism. She's back home for the summer after losing her summer job at a newspaper. Her Uncle Deck has managed to get her a job at the local spa resort where she meets the resorts exclusive nightclub manager Dalton Tremaine. Cami has always heard her mom say about a lightening strike when you find the one but she never expected it at this time in her life.

Dalton is running the nightclub for his best friend Griffin who he met during his time playing pro baseball. After an injury struck him out of the game he's doing it to fill time whilst he tries start up a training facility for kids to get pro baseball coaching. As soon as he gets a glimpse of Cami he knows she's different. He has been stung by his ex but he knows Cami is nothing like her.

The resort is very exclusive hosting high profile celebrities and politician's, of course where they are there's always scandal. Somehow Cami and Dalton get caught up amongst it. Cami being a natural reporter starts asking questions that could put her life at risk.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeek i was so excited for this and it did not disappoint. The Gentry series is in my top 10 series of all time and this is looking like it's heading there right along side it.

I always felt like i was part of the Gentry's. I know that sounds cray cray but i do. The way it's written you feel like you know these people and reading their children's stories gives me massive warm fuzzies!

Cami is amazing just like her parents. I love how respectful of them she is and it makes my heart soar to see it! Those triplets dragged themselves out of the dirt poor life they had and have managed to raise the best kids ever. I loved the interaction in the family. Cami and Cassie are so close just like twins should be. I love how they sense each others feelings it's wonderful to read. Now Daddy Cord!! He is so different than what i thought he would be and the way he is with his girls actually brought tears to my eyes. Cami is strong and confident and i honestly just loved her!

Dalton is an amazing addition to the family. He's so sexy i kept imagining him in his baseball gear... phewwwww The loving scenes were wowzers HOT! i mean wall, window, bed, rug... there's plenty to keep the temperature up to sizzling just like in the desert! I loved how logical he was and level headed. Even when Cami tests his patience he knew she was worth it.

The plot was sweet and full of love but it was also exciting and had twists and turns. I was kept wondering who the baddies were. The writing was impecable as always!

I loved the relationship that Cami and Dalton had it absolutely filled my heart right to the brim.

Seeing all the other Gentry's in here just made me sigh with happiness and I'm really really excited to keep seeing them throughout this series. I love the family gatherings!

I am also excited to see more of Dalton's brother Hale. He sound's yum meeeeeee!

Massive highly recommend series! I don't think you need to have read the Gentry series to read this one but honestly you would be missing out on one of the best series' ever!

5 fandabidoozer stars!

*** RELEASE BLITZ *** Drunk Dial by Penelope Ward

Amazon | Audio | iBooks | Nook | Kobo | Amazon Paperback

From New York Times bestselling author Penelope Ward, comes a new, sexy standalone novel. It seemed like a good idea at the time. Look up Landon Roderick, that boy from childhood whom I’d never been able to forget—even though he so easily forgot about me—and call him. Then again, anything sounds like a good idea when you’ve had a little too much wine before bed, right? It was supposed to be just a quick, meaningless, prank call. Instead, I went off on him—unloading thirteen years of pent-up emotions. I didn’t think he’d call me back. I certainly could never have anticipated the weeks of sexually tense phone conversations that followed as I got to know the man he’d become. Turned out, Landon had never really forgotten me, either. That special connection we had was still there. I opened up to him, but there were also things about me he didn’t know. And he had his own secrets. Over the countless hours we talked on the phone, I wondered what would happen if we actually saw each other. One night, I did something impulsive again. Only this time, I went to the airport and booked a ticket to California. We were about to find out if one phone call could bring two lost souls together or if my drunk dial really was all just a big mistake. A complete STANDALONE.

4 "Rubik's Cube" Stars

Drunk Dial was a sweet and atypical friends to lovers romance that I enjoyed thoroughly in one sitting. Landon and Rana's friendship stopped at 13 but picked back up unexpectedly years later when Rana, tired, angry and drunk, decided that it was time to confront her one time friend. But after that drunk dial, Landon and Rana get so much more than they expected.

Landon lives in California. Lana lives on the other side of the country. But for a short time as kids they were neighbors until Rana's family had to leave which left Rana with a bitter taste in her mouth as her life kind of spiraled out of control after that. Having kept the letters her friend Landon wrote she looks at them from time to time especially when she's feeling down on her luck. One night she looks him up and what begins are converastions that show their bond never really broke and what they thought they knew is only skimming the surface of their reality. But now each has to open up fully and with both holding secrets, they may be over before they can ever really begin.

I was enthralled with Landon and Rana's story. I loved both characters and their obvious attraction to each other but how they kept things superficial until they were sure was deliciously addicting. As they opened up and feelings became involved, I could not wait until they finally met. And when they did, I loved the sparks that flew. I did feel like their secrets weren't quite as angsty as I was expecting. They had the potential to really create some good push and pull but the aftermath was quite light but still kept it interesting. I am definately a big fan of Ms. Ward, her characters and her stories.

***RELEASE BLITZ*** Cockloft by KC Lynn

Author: KC Lynn
Release Date: August 18, 2017
TBR Link: Goodreads

Cockloft: A firefighter term used as a structural space above ceiling and below rafters, often connecting adjacent occupancies and permitting fire to spread laterally, often unseen.

Gabriel Martinez is the most arrogant and infuriating man I’ve ever met. He has a knee-weakening smirk that makes me want to kiss—no—slap it off his rude, sexy face. Judging by his ego, you’d think the hose in his pants is as big as the one on his fire truck. Not that I know anything about that nor do I want to. Nope, not at all. He’s already been forgotten like last season’s Michael Kors.

CeCe Kensington is as pretentious and spoiled as they come. The ridiculous purses she shoulders around are as big as her attitude. And don’t get me started on her mile-long legs or full, glossy lips that are meant to be wrapped around a guy’s… If she only knew the dirty things I think about doing to that sassy mouth of hers, she'd be hightailing it back to her side of town.

✿¸.•´¸✿*´¨) ¸.•*¨✿

When the beautiful boutique owner and sexy firefighter meet in the most unlikely situation, their two worlds collide, creating an explosion of misperceptions and combustible heat, trapping them in a fire they never saw coming.

Talk Spanish to me!!! phewwwwww!!!

Cece is a sassy strong independent woman. She also loves her bags, shoes and clothes. What girl doesn't!! She's trying to build her business and is content with it being just her and Pepper.

One night in her apartment the fire alarms go off. Thinking it's another prank by the kids down the hall she ignores it until she smells smoke. Realizing it's not a false alarm she goes to grab her favorite bag. In panic she can't find it. That's when she encounters Gabe. Annoyed that she's risking his life and her own to save a purse he gives her attitude. This only brings out her sassy no messing side out. There's something about her even though she's annoying that pulls at Gabe.

Gabe is living the single life due to his shifts at the fire station he's happy to stay that way. But when his path crosses with the sassy rich girl he can't ignore the draw even though he really wants to. After rescuing her he thinks he won't see her again. But after a few encounters he knows he can't resist and decides to go after her.

Its not all plain sailing and with their ethnic and class differences they hit a few bumps in the road.

This books has all the feels!!! Loads of them!!! You're bombarded with the warm fuzzies from the start!! awwwww i love them!!

Gabe is everything!!! He's fun and determined and sweet and hot!! HOT HOT HOT! When he turns on the charm boy do you know about it!! When he whispers Spanish i swear i got the sweats....Everywhere!!! *Blushes* Phewwww And just to add the cherry on the cake... The thought of him in that uniform... OMG... Come on!!!! He's a red hot smoking fireman!!!

Cece!! I loved her in Beautifully Insightful and i now love her even more. I love her sassy bold character that takes no messing but the thing i think that made me love her more is the vulnerable side of her. Aww there were a few teary moments with her when she remembers her father.

The storyline carries you along (mostly) on a fluffy warm funny cloud! There were some serious LOL moments, lots of fun and banter and so many sweet awwww i want a Gabe moments i couldn't put it down.

Brilliant writing as I've come to expect from KC Lynn and just a heartwarming beautiful story.

The side characters, namely his brothers... YUM YUM YUM!! They need their own stories!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PRETTY PLEASE let them??? *Big Sad Eyes*

Highly rate! Wonderful standalone funny sweet and sexy!
